Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison paid tribute and offered the deepest sympathies of Australia to the royal family.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison has paid tribute to Prince Philip, saying he was “no stranger to Australia”, having visited the country more than 20 times.
Scott Morrison said Australians sent their love and deepest condolences to Queen Elizabeth and the royal family.
“The Commonwealth family joins together in sorrow and thanksgiving for the loss and life of Prince Philip,” “God bless from all here in Australia.” Scott Morrison said in a statement.
“With his passing, we say farewell to another of the greatest generation,” the Prime Minister said on Saturday morning from Kirribilli House.
“The generation that defied tyranny, but won peace, and built a liberal world order that protects and favours freedom.”
“But above all, today, we think of our Queen.
“Great peace and comfort from your deep faith at this time of sorrow”.
“The Duke was a steadfast man, a man of honour, service, duty and loyalty. We give thanks for his life of service,”
“Let your Commonwealth now be your strength and stay. God Save the Queen.”
